Kate Middleton didn’t have a smooth relationship with the other members of the royal family when she joined them.

The Duchess of Cambridge is adored for her fashion, beautiful smile and friendliness. However, not all members of the royal family was fond of her. Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice and Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly had some hesitations or objections with her. Check out Middleton’s relationship with the other royals below.

Prince Harry

Middleton and Prince Harry are very close. Before the Duke of Sussex dated and married Meghan Markle, he was always with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in various engagements. The three royals were always together that they were dubbed “the royal trio.”

However, according to Vicky Ward in an article for Vanity Fair, it actually took longer for Prince Harry to warm up to Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge has went to dinner with the members of the royal family and Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla immediately liked her but not Prince Harry.

Middleton was reportedly the opposite of Prince Harry’s then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy. Davy dresses provocatively while Middleton prefers demure outfits. Davy also doesn’t mind being photographed with a glass in one hand and a cigarette in the other unlike Middleton who is very careful because she is marrying someone who will be the future king.

Princess Beatrice

According to another report, Princess Beatrice was “quite icy” to Middleton because she became popular to Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Beatrice’s ill-feelings toward Middleton led to Princess Eugenie’s awkward relationship with the duchess.

Also, things got worse when Prince William didn’t approve of Princess Beatrice’s boyfriend contributing to their 2016 split. Princess Beatrice’s ex-boyfriend was reportedly nice and he made Princess Beatrice happy but Prince William was always wary of him. Their personalities clashed.

Camilla Parker Bowles

When Prince William and Middleton were still dating, Camilla reportedly found her unsuitable for the future king. She wanted them to split because she found Middleton “pretty, but rather dim” and “too lowly” for the second-in-line to the throne.

Middleton and Camilla’s relationship has since improved. They were seen sharing a joke with Middleton side-eyeing Camilla while trying to keep herself from laughing during Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding.
