Is Katie Holmes At Risk Of Losing Daughter Suri To Tom Cruise?

Katie Holmes shocked many when she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise in June 2012. Even though the stars managed to finalize the process in less than two months, actress Leah Remini is now claiming the terms that brought the marriage to an end came with restrictions.

When Holmes and Cruise legally dissolved their union, little was known about the terms of their divorce settlement other than the “Dawson’s Creek” alum received primary physical custody of their daughter Suri Cruise.

In a sneak peek of Remini’s interview with LaPalme magazine, via Us Weekly, the “Kevin Can Wait” actress reflected on her life after leaving the Church of Scientology. “I thought comedy would be my life. I don’t consider myself a champion. The people who speak on the show are champions,” she told the publication of her show “Scientology and the Aftermath.”

During the chat, she also alluded to the idea that Cruise, who is affiliated with the church, still controls certain aspects of Holmes’ life, mainly Suri.

“But I keep wondering — why haven’t Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman spoken out? I assume they were forced to sign prohibitive documents. Trust me, Katie’s not allowed to have a meal with me and we used to be close friends. She could lose custody of Suri. It’s quite sick, really,” Remini said.

Kidman and Cruise divorced in 2001 after 11 years of marriage. During their relationship, they adopted a son, Connor, and a daughter, Isabella.

Neither Kidman nor Holmes has addressed Remini’s comments, but both women have moved on following their marriages to Cruise. The 51-year-old Academy Award winner married country singer Keith Urban in 2006. The couple shares two daughters, Faith and Sunday.

Meanwhile, Holmes has been romantically linked to Jamie Foxx since 2013. While the actors have not confirmed their relationship, the two have been spotted out together on several occasions. This week, the pair was seen in Marietta, Georgia where Foxx is filming the drama, “Just Mercy.”

Holmes and Foxx were photographed visiting a Dick’s Sporting Goods where they picked up bikes and kept close to one another. After their shopping trip, the actress was seen sitting on her rumored boyfriend’s lap in the front seat of their SUV.

Despite their outings, it isn’t likely that the pair will go public with their romance. Following her divorce from Cruise, Holmes told People she had no interest in receiving recognition for her love life. “I don’t want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am,” she said during a 2014 interview.

“I don’t want that to be what I’m known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now.”
