Katy Perry surprised the world by announcing her pregnancy this week and both fans and celebrities alike have since commented on the news. Singer Halsey sang her praises for Perry’s announcement via her Instagram Story on Thursday and Perry has now responded.

“Gonna be the best mama ever. Your maternal energy has always radiated from you like a white light. Can’t wait to see it shine even brighter!” Halsey wrote.

The 35-year-old singer responded to Halsey’s post on Thursday night with the message, “ily [I love you] Hals my favorite song is More & 929 from Manic.”

The songs Perry’s referencing are from Halsey’s latest album “Manic,” which released Jan. 17.

Perry’s pregnancy announcement was revealed within her music video for “Never Worn White,” which many are describing as a love song to her fiancé and baby daddy, actor Orlando Bloom. At the end of the video, which at press time had amassed over 14 million views, she turns toward the camera so that fans can see her baby bump.

Perry and Bloom have been dating on and off since 2016, according to Insider, and got engaged in February 2019. This will be her first child and Bloom’s second. He welcomed his first, son Flynn from his relationship with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, in 2011. The new baby’s gender or name is not yet known, but Bloom and Perry seem to be calling their child “baby cat.”

After making the pregnancy announcement, Perry admitted via Twitter on Friday her nervousness about telling the world her news.

Perry's fans might also be able to expect more than a baby from the singer. According to People, she also teased via Instagram Live this week that more music could be on the way this summer.

“…Not only will I be giving birth — literally — but also figuratively, to something you guys have been waiting for,” she said.
