Kevin Durant and Draymond Green have finally revealed what caused their breakup following their 2019 run.

For the latter half of the past decade, the Golden State Warriors owned the NBA.

From setting individual career highs to becoming the NBA’s equivalent of Darth Vader from the Star Wars series, no one enjoyed facing the Warriors--except for LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

When they added Durant to the team, it seemed that they were going to establish a full-fledged dynasty hell-bent on securing titles.

But a 2018 incident between Durant and the outspoken leader in Green broke out, leading to Durant’s eventual departure from the team to the Brooklyn Nets the following year.

Both men were caught on camera having a war of words as they faced the Los Angeles Clippers after Green opted to bring up the ball as time expired in regulation.

Three years after the incident, the two Olympic gold medalists were able to sit down and talk about what happened then in Green’s new series, “Chips”.

Green asked Durant about how the argument factored into his decision to jump ship later in that offseason.

"It wasn't the argument," Durant said. "It was the way that everybody--Steve Kerr--acted like it didn't happen. Bob Myers tried to just discipline you (Green) and think that would put the mask over everything."

Green was suspended by the team for the next game, and he tried to tell Warriors management that what they were doing was going to mess everything up.

"'Y'all are about to [expletive] this up,'" Green said he told general manager Bob Myers. "I said, 'The only person that can make this right is me and K (Durant). And there is nothing that y'all can do, and y'all are going to [expletive] this up.' And in my opinion, they [expletive] it up."

“I think so too,” responded Durant.

Both men are currently on their own paths towards the NBA title, with Durant’s Nets a little bit closer than Green’s Warriors, who will have to rebuild their team’s chemistry after lengthy runs to the championship.
