  • "The Man from Toronto" to release on MLK holiday weekend
  • The movie was originally scheduled for Sept. 16, 2021
  • Jason Statham was initially roped in to play Woody Harrelson's character

Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson’s "The Man From Toronto" is all set to release on Jan. 14, 2022.

Patrick Hughes' directorial revolves around the mistaken identity of the world's deadliest assassin. Harrelson, 59, portrayed the deadliest assassin, and Hart, 41, played Teddy Nilson, a common man.

This movie will mark Hart's third Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend release following the "Ride Along," which came out on Jan. 15, 2016, and the drama-comedy, "The Upside," which was released on Jan. 10, 2017.

Last year, it was announced Jason Statham will portray the assassin's character, but he abruptly exited the project before filming began and Harrelson replaced him, the Deadline reported. The filming of the movie began on Oct. 12, 2020, in Toronto, and Hart praised Harrelson on social media.

"So thankful for the opportunities that have come my way...," he captioned. "Been a fan of this mans work for years....now he’s my Co Star!!!! God is good.... #Blessed #ManFromToronto #ComingSoon."

Harrelson also took to Instagram in October and shared a behind-the-scenes photo.

"I can't tell you what a joy it is to work with this incredibly funny, gifted, amazing fellow...," he captioned. "I have admired him for a long time and it is so cool to get to see him do his thing up close."

"This is perhaps my most difficult role because I have to keep a straight face and act like I'm not wildly amused when he does things no human could not laugh at. #manfromtoronto," he added.

The production work of the movie was completed last year in December. The screenplay is penned by Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner.

The action-comedy movie was originally scheduled for Sept. 16, 2021, but got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Besides "The Man from Toronto," Hart will be seen in "Fatherhood," which is slated to release this year. The movie is currently under post-production.

The comedian took to Instagram on Monday to share a glimpse of his workout regime for his upcoming movie, "Borderlands."

"Getting ready for “Borderlands”.....it’s almost go time....," he captioned. "#HustleHart #WorkedBackToday #LilSwoleOnDaYard."
