  • Kim Kardashian said having to style herself after her split from Kanye West has been stress-inducing
  • The reality star claimed West criticized the outfit she chose for the WSJ. Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards in November last year
  • She alleged that West told her at the time that her career was "over"

Kim Kardashian admitted that her ex Kanye West influenced her fashion choices when they were together and that he gave her brutal feedback when she styled herself following their split.

In the latest episode of "The Kardashians," the 41-year-old Skims mogul told her sister Kourtney Kardashian that picking outfits has been stressful for her since she and West called it quits in early 2021. Kim had apparently gotten used to asking the Yeezy designer for advice on her wardrobe during their nine-year relationship, and she'd found it difficult to cope with having to style herself again.

"I got to the point where I would ask him for advice for everything, down to what I wear," Kim was quoted as saying by Entertainment Tonight. "Even now I’m having panic attacks, like, 'What do I wear?'"

When Kim made her hosting debut on "Saturday Night Live" in October 2021, it was still West who styled her. However, she dressed herself when she attended the WSJ. Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards a few weeks later.

Kim recalled feeling "so nervous" at the time and asking herself, "How do I wear something that hasn’t been pre-vetted first?"

"It was psychologically [hard]," she explained.

The mother of four eventually decided to wear a dark brown leather dress with matching gloves from the Fendi X Skims collection. However, she claimed that the "Donda" artist called her after the event and criticized her look.

"He told me my career’s over and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar," Kim claimed.

In addition to discussing West's influence on Kim's style, Kourtney — who made headlines last month for tying the knot with fiancé Travis Barker without a marriage license at a Las Vegas chapel ceremony — also asked about the rapper allegedly delaying the signing of the exes' divorce papers.

"I don’t know. I ask him all the time. He says he will, and then he’s like, 'Well, I don’t want a divorce, so I’m not gonna sign them,'" Kim shared.

In a confessional, Kim revealed why she's "always super protective of Kanye and not sharing a lot of the negative things that have happened."

"He’s not here doing the show. Also if I do something on a reality show then it’s like, 'How dare she talk about it.' And then he can do a song that’s so creative and expressive," she said. "It’s always, like, two different sides are being expressed two different ways. One is respected and one is not."

West has been open about his desire to stay married to Kim, claiming that their four children — North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2 — want their parents to be together.

However, the KKW Beauty mogul, who is now dating Pete Davidson, made her intention to go through with the divorce clear when she filed to be declared legally single in December 2021. Her request was granted in March.

During an appearance on Dear Media's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast last month, Kim revealed that she and West did not talk for eight months after she filed for divorce in February last year. But she said they still "have so much love for each other."

"We really do. We're always family, we're always going to have so much love and we love our kids," she said in the interview. "We both love the time we spent together. You know, I think that we'll always have that and always cherish that. Sometimes it just doesn't work out for whatever reasons, but no matter what, I always just think of like the positive times."

New episodes of "The Kardashians" are released on Hulu every Thursday.
