Kim Zolciak-Biermann Is Unrecognizable With A Shocking New Hairstyle

Reality star Kim Zolciak-Biermann debuted a dramatic new look on Instagram Monday morning, as she changed her hair color, leaving fans to do a doubletake.

The “Don’t Be Tardy” Bravo star, who catapulted to fame after becoming a part of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast in 2008, usually has blonde hair but went a lot of shades darker recently. Zolciak showed off her new look alongside her eldest daughter Brielle.

And it turns out she was born with dark hair. “Fun facts: I had dark hair almost black until I was about 15, that’s when I started coloring it!” Zolciak-Biermann shared. “My mom is a hairdresser so I was always playing around with color. I went blonder and blonder and have never looked back! I don’t miss the dark hair although I would take it over all my gray now any day.”

Zolciak has never been shy about her obsession with hair and wigs and has even shown off her wig collection on-air. When asked by a fan on Instagram about why she doesn’t wear her natural hair, the 40-year-old shared a simple explanation, posting, "It's just easier for me!! I can't imagine sitting in hair and makeup for 2hrs a day!" She also admitted that her glam process is even easier since her wigs are styled on her mannequin, Quinn Zolciak.

Of course, she is not the only celebrity who often relies on wigs to transform her look. In 2015, Kylie Jenner shared a video showing off her wide array of colorful wigs, and previously rapper Nicki Minaj spoke about why she enjoys wearing wigs, telling People in 2011, "My wigs are ever changing in height, width, color, size. They make me feel happy. Wearing them makes me feel that I can be a different person every day and that is kind of exciting."
