Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo has revealed that aside from the young core, the Laker veterans are also affected by the Anthony Davis trade talks.

Along with the New York Knicks, the Lakers have been in the center of the Davis free agency and trade rumors this offseason. Aside from the young stars of the current Lakers team, it appears that the veterans are also getting their fair share of the Davis effect this offseason.

Lakers guard Rajon Rondo recently opened up about an intriguing scenario in which one of the veterans of the team expressed how he felt about the Davis issues, SB Nation noted.

“Even some of the old guys were affected, I can’t say a name, but I remember me and the guy were on the bench for the Atlanta game right before the [All-Star] break. The guy was cussing and talking bad about the situation during the game.I was like: ‘Snap out of it. That shit is over with. We’ll get through it. As vets, we have to move forward and not focus on what the young guys are focusing on. Set an example.’ It was a little crazy to see a vet distraught over that,” Rondo told The Bleacher Report.

Just a week ago, another Lakers guard, Josh Hart, already mentioned that in the Davis-Lakers talks, there are only two players who are considered “untouchable” and these are Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Lakers superstar LeBron James, according to Lake Show Life.

The Lakers players revelation appears to strongly suggest that in the process of the team’s recuperation, the feelings of their players are being affected.

Before the trade deadline, the Lakers already offered its rising stars Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart in exchange for Davis, but the massive deal never pushed through.

With the way thing are going, it seems like there could be a déjà vu as reports have claimed that the offer that would entice the Pelicans will involve the Lakers’ young core.

The New Orleans Pelicans were reportedly interested only in Ingram, and sources claimed that any other offer which will not include the 21-year-old forward will be rejected.

In simpler terms, the Lakers’ chances of getting Davis decreases, and it will surely reveal how badly the Lakers want Davis. The big question is, are they willing to trade their young core once again for the Pelicans superstar?
