Lala Kent is getting real about how her approach to dating changed after her split from ex-fiancé Randall Emmett.

The "Vanderpump Rules" star, 31, shared new details about her dating life on Amazon Live Tuesday, revealing that she hired a private investigator to look into her dates' backgrounds so she doesn't get duped again after her ex allegedly cheated on her.

"I will never welcome someone into my life again without a full background check, and I mean in-depth," she was quoted by Page Six as saying. "I got to see what your credit is. I need to know your family history. I need to know everything you’ve been involved with. I'm going deep."

She continued, "I now have, like, this PI guy who I just randomly send people to. I'm like, 'Hey, before I go anywhere with this person, I'm going to need to know his story.'"

The Utah native also pointed out that the response must have come from her getting "damaged" by her last relationship.

Kent said she couldn't "remember" any happy memories with Emmett. She claimed that the 50-year-old producer cheated on her multiple times and "made it easy" for her to move on as there "wasn't much to miss" about their relationship.

"This could be the trauma — I don’t remember anything about my relationship. I don’t remember any good moments," she said. "I can only remember the demise of it, so maybe that's my mind trying to protect me."

In the same broadcast, Kent opened up about her first date since calling off her engagement to Emmett. She previously teased that she was going on a date with a "very tall" man who is "gentle," has a lot of tattoos and is "built like Superman."

"It was amazing. I had a lot of fun. I know I’m definitely not ready to date just one person," Kent shared. "I want to continue having fun, and that's what it is. He was very fun to look at, by the way. I was like, 'Wow, look at that jawline. Good for you.' I was like, 'Damn, that jawline.' Very into it."

Kent originally went public with Emmett in 2018 and announced their engagement that same year. After having to postpone their nuptials due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pair welcomed their now-10-month-old daughter, Ocean, in March 2021.

Late last year, the "Give Them Lala" author sparked split speculation when she removed all photos of the producer from her Instagram page. News broke of their split in October 2021.
