Reality show “Vanderpump Rules” star Lala Kent posted a video on Instagram Stories, Monday, where she talked about the moment she realized that she was an alcoholic and needed to get sober.

“Five months ago, I came to the realization that I am an alcoholic, and I am now a friend of Bill W. [Bill Wilson Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step program], which you will never know how much this program means to me [and] has given me new life,” Kent said in the video. “I always say if you don’t have to be sober, I wouldn’t recommend it, but me — as someone who does need to be sober — being in my right frame of mind every single day is truly incredible. When I’m having the roughest day that I could possibly have, I — for once in a very, very long time — see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know that tomorrow I’m gonna be okay.”

She also got emotional while talking about the pain of losing her father Kent Burningham in April.

“I’m thinking a lot about my dad today — not different from any other day — and I just feel very, very blessed that I think back on my time that I had with him and there’s no regrets,” she shared. “I’m so grateful that I have this program and that I can mourn him. The program has allowed me to sit down and remember my dad in a clear frame of mind, and remember what he brought to my life, what he meant to me, what he taught me.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kent has an estimated net worth of $2 million, most of which comes from her earnings from the popular reality series. She was a recurring cast member during “Vanderpump Rules” seasons four and five and became a main cast member from season six. She also has a significant social media presence, with over a million followers on Instagram. In addition, she owns the company Lala Beauty, which is her personal brand of cosmetics.

Kent is engaged to film and television producer Randall Emmett, who has a net worth of $16 million. In April 2018, she took to Instagram to credit her fiancé with helping her deal with her father's death. “You are my rock. My heart & soul. You saved me- Kept me from drowning in the darkest time of my life. I cherish the human you are. Thank you, my love,” she wrote in a presently-deleted post.

However, in December she revealed in an interview with People Magazine that both of them equally struggled with alcoholism. “We’re just taking a different turn with our life,” she explained, adding that, “During the day, I was like, ‘How am I so down to drink right now?’ And after my dad passed away, we had lots of drinking.”

She also revealed that she had made a pact with Emmett to stay sober – a promise that he broke after he ended up partying during one of Kent’s all-girls trip to Solvang, California. When she returned from the getaway, she found him drunk and slurring his words. “I feel betrayed because we made a pact. This is a hard time for me, and I need my partner, I need my soulmate, and I need someone to back me up,” she said.

However, both of them worked through it and eventually sobered up. “I have been open about suffering from anxiety, and not saying that I don’t anymore, but it has gone down tremendously since I gave up drinking and I don’t smoke weed anymore; I’m a clean baby! I’m ready to be a healthy person,” she added.
