The Legends try to put back reality as it was in Season 2 finale of “Legends of Tomorrow.”

In the trailer for Season 2, episode 17, the team returns to 1916 France in the middle of World War I to stop the Legion of Doom from ever getting the Spear of Destiny. But in addition to dealing with the Legion, the Legends must also convince their past selves that they are allies and not enemies.

At some point in trailer, Ray’s (Brandon Routh) past self punches Sara (Caity Lotz) in the face when the two sets of Legends meet in the battlefield. To calm the tense moment, Jax (Franz Drameh) tries his best to convince their past selves that they are not imposters.

While the trailer reveals that the team manages to return to 1916, it remains to be seen how they are reunited with Rip (Arthur Darvill), who unbeknownst to himself, is currently stuck in a miniature version of the Waverider in Doomworld’s S.T.A.R. Labs.

Also in the season finale, Sara will be also be reunited with her sister, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). “It’s only one scene,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TV Insider of the reunion between the siblings. “I have to give a shout-out to Katie Cassidy. … She’s spectacular in it. It’s a scene we’ve wanted to do since the beginning of the season. We really wanted to get Sara and Laurel back together.”

Besides Cassidy, Guggenheim revealed on Twitter that Jack Turner — who made his debut appearance as J.R.R. Tolkien in Season 2, episode 15 — will also be back in the finale.

The Legends’ primary objective in the finale is to destroy the Spear of Destiny once and for all, but as the synopsis for the episode reveals, destroying the relic comes with a huge consequence.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2 finale, titled “Aruba,” airs on Tuesday, April 4 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
