The LG G4 Beat, a midrange smartphone, has been officially announced by the South Korean tech giant. The same handset is being sold in Europe and the former Soviet states as the LG G4S. The handset aims to provide its users with premium design and features in a midrange package.

LG Newsroom reports that the LG G4 Beat measures 142.7 x 72.6 x 9.85mm and weighs 139 grams. It houses a 5.2 inches IPS LCD display screen. It offers a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The LG G4 flagship comes with a larger battery of 5.5 inches.

It is run by the Snapdragon 615 chipset that includes a 64-bit octa-core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. The native storage available on the device is 8 GB.

The LG G4 Beat comes with a rear camera of 8 MP and it is enabled with laser auto-focus feature. For Latin American markets, the device comes with a higher 13 MP camera. The selfie camera of 5 MP is enabled with Gesture Interval Shot.

The handset supports various connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, a- GPS and GLONASS. The manufacturers have included a removable battery of 2,300 mAh capacity. The device will come shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, overlaid with LG’s proprietary software of LG UX 4.0.

The LG G4 Beat will first arrive in European countries and Latin America regions with color options like silver, white and gold. The countries that will receive the LG G4 Beat include Canada, India, Russia and Singapore.

Last year too, LG released the LG G3 Beat after the release of the LG G3 flagship. This year too, the company is following the same pattern. However, as of this writing, the pricing and the availability of LG G4 Beat for U.S. markets are not known. The LG G4 Beat that was announced after the LG G4 Stylus was unveiled last month is the fifth variant of the LG G4, says NDTV.
