The LG G6 will be available to carriers in Canada starting April 7, LG Canada has confirmed. These carriers include Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Freedom Mobile, Koodo Mobile, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron and Virgin Mobile, according to Android Central.

Several sources have indicated the smartphone will also go on sale in the U.S. on that date. Tech informative Evan Blass has reported an April 7 LGG G6 release date for American carriers. Prior reports have also indicated the LG G6 would be available on T-Mobile starting April 7. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint have also confirmed they will carry the flagship, but have not yet revealed further details about availability.

Neither Canadian nor U.S. carriers have revealed the LG G6 price. However, the device went on sale in Korea March 10 and is available for 899,800 KRW, which equates to about about $795.

The LG G6 will beat its rival the Samsung Galaxy S8 to market by about two weeks. The Galaxy S8 will be announced March 29 and is expected to hit markets between April 21 and April 28. Recent reports suggest the device will most likely become available on the earlier date.

To offset the earlier release of the LG G6, Samsung released in Korea a promotional ad for the Galaxy S8. Once both devices are on the market, they will compete in terms of specs, with both having no home button, thin bezels and an 18:9:5 aspect ratio for their displays. Both LG and Samsung have put an emphasis on camera features on their 2017 flagships.
