The purported specifications of the 2015 LG Nexus 5 reveal it will be featuring a fingerprint scanner. It appears that the South Korean company also plans to include a fingerprint scanner on its forthcoming flagships, including the LG G Pro and the LG G5.

The upcoming 2015 LG Nexus 5 as well as the 2015 Huawei Nexus smartphones will be launched with Android M onboard. The new operating system comes with inbuilt support for fingerprint sensors. Thus, both of the Google Nexus 2015 smartphones will likely have fingerprint recognition sensors.

Samsung introduced the fingerprint sensor for the first time on the Galaxy S5 flagship in 2014. Since then all the subsequent flagships, such as the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge, the Galaxy S6, and the Galaxy S6 Edge, are enabled with fingerprint recognition hardware. Even the forthcoming Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be featuring it.

Apple introduced the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 5S in 2013. It is also available on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The upcoming iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will come with Touch ID fingerprint sensors as well.

Since payments made through fingerprint sensors are highly secure, Apple launched the Apple Pay mobile payment service for its users. Samsung, too, will be starting its Samsung Pay service that will allow users to make secure payment through fingerprint scanning.

LG seems to be waiting for the Android M to arrive with its native Android Pay service. Any Android M handset with a fingerprint scanner onboard will be able to take advantage of the Android Pay service. Google will be launching Android Pay through the upcoming 2015 LG Nexus 5 and 2015 Huawei Nexus smartphones, G for Games reported.

According to a recent Gizmo China report, the 2015 LG Nexus 5 will be featuring a 5.2-inch full-HD screen. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 620 chip, 3GB or 4GB of RM, 13MP OIS and laser autofocus-enabled camera, 4MP front-facing camera, and 3,180 mAh battery. The 16GB and 32GB models are pegged to be available with respective price tags of $349 and $399.
