The holiday season might be the last thing anyone is thinking of right now, but Lifetime is looking further ahead than the rest of us by already announcing some of the planned projects in the works for their 2020 Christmas movie season.

After pulling off their most ambitious holiday season yet in 2019 by starting a 24/7 marathon of movie in October and premiering over 30 new titles, the cable channel is already starting to lay some groundwork for what could potentially be an even bigger event for 2020. While production on the different projects is in “various stages,” any production has been shut down due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, with dates to resume not yet determined. Still, work that doesn’t need to be done in front of the camera is in full swing.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the network has made a big score when it comes to casting the lead of one of their still-untitled projects. Betty White has signed on to star in a project where her character “helps ready would-be Santas for the holidays. But a mystery looms: Is she actually Mrs. Claus?”

However, the White-led film isn’t the only one that the network revealed, with some favorite stars from past films once again starring in new holiday movies. Kelly Rowland, who made her debut in 2019 in “Merry Liddle Christmas” is set to star in a sequel film in 2020 titled “Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding.” Meanwhile, Melissa Joan Hart, who previously starred in the network’s “Santa Con,” “A Very Merry Toy Store,” “A Very Nutty Christmas,” and “Christmas Reservations,” will step behind the camera to direct the potentially titled “Felix NaviDad.” That film is set to star Mario Lopez, who previously starred with Hart in “Toy Store,” as well as “Holiday in Handcuffs” for ABC Family (now Freeform).
