Disney’s classic animated musical film, “The Lion King,” has gotten the remake treatment, and fans will be able to check out the new 2019 movie when it hits theaters on Friday.

Unlike the recent “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast” films, this “Lion King” movie is not a live-action version of the original film. Instead, it uses the more photorealistic computer-generated animation that was used in most of the 2016 edition of “The Jungle Book.”

Before seeing the updated movie, though, fans can rewatch the original “Lion King,” as well as its two franchise sequels, online. Keep reading for details on where the films are available, as well as synopses for each (via Disney).
