Lionel Richie, Girlfriend Lisa Parigi's Age Gap Causing A Stir On Twitter

Lionel Richie and his girlfriend, Lisa Parigi, have left some fans stunned due to their age gap.

On Valentine's Day, the Grammy-winning singer shared a photo of him and the lifestyle blogger, whom he has been dating since 2014 according to Page Six, getting cozy on Instagram. The snap has now resurfaced over at Twitter, igniting much discussion.

Richie is 71, while Parigi, according to Ace Showbiz, was born in 1989 – making her nearly 40 years her boyfriend's junior. Their age gap raised some eyebrows on social media, considering Parigi is only a few years younger than Richie’s adopted daughter Nicole, who is 39, and just a few years older than daughter Sofia, 22, and son Miles, 26.

"The only love that wins here is her love for money. Why don't these women date broke old men?" one Twitter user commented with a laughing emoji.

"There's no love wins... How can you jol someone who you were over 40 when she was an infant? And I thought dude was gay," another added.

Another explained, "personally i dont have an issue with age but Lionel Richie is dating someone younger than his daughter that to me is problematic."

But while some were not convinced by the sincerity of Richie and Parigi's romance, others appeared to have no problem with the age gap.

Meanwhile, some pointed out that Richie looks younger than his age.

“To his credit, he don’t look 71,” one fan wrote.

Richie's youngest daughter, Sofia Richie, used to date Scott Disick, who was 16 years her senior. The model said she was not bothered by the huge age gap because it isn't new in her family. Her dad and mom, Diane Alexander, are 18 years apart in terms of age.
