  • Kacper Kozlowski plays for Polish club Pogoń Szczecin
  • Apart from Liverpool, AC Milan and Juventus are also interested in Kozlowski
  • Kozlowski made his Poland debut earlier this year

Liverpool FC are reportedly chasing Polish teenage sensation Kacper Kozlowski, who has drawn comparisons with Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne.

Liverpool will receive competition from other European rivals such as AC Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Pogon Szczecin midfielder Kozlowski, reported Polish media outlet Interia Sport.

The Reds are believed to be ahead in the race to secure Kozlowski, who is branded as "Polish De Bruyne," according to soccer outlet FootballTransfers.

Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in signing Kozlowski, according to soccer media outlet Teamtalk. Kozlowski, who made his Poland debut earlier this year during World Cup qualifiers, has now played five times for Poland's senior team, including in the Euros 2020.

The 17-year-old's primary role is that of No. 10 but his versatile game allows him to play the role of No. 8 and No. 6 as well. Moreover, if a player is compared to Manchester City's De Bruyne, who has scored over 100 competitive goals in his club career, there is certainly significant talent present.

Pogon Szczecin's Kozlowski has a blend of great height, physicality, power and technical ability on the ball and is known for having an eye for goal and creating chances for his teammates.

When reacting to recent transfer links with several top European clubs, including Liverpool, Kozlowski said he doesn't let himself get involved in transfer rumors and will let his agent handle it.

"I try to cut myself off from this type of information. Let my agent handle it. I don't know what I will do tomorrow, much less whether I will finish the season in Pogoń or leave in winter. I don't think about it, I do my own thing. And big names, they do not impress me. My dream is to play in this class of club in the future, but I think that the best thing to do is to apply the principle of small steps to reach the goal," Kozlowski told Interia Sport.

Gini Wijnaldum left Liverpool in the summer of 2021 after he ran out of contract and joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer. While a series of midfielders were linked with Liverpool as the replacement for the Dutchman, the Reds decided to not land any of those midfielders this summer.

Instead, they converted 18-year-old Harvey Elliott into a midfielder, who made a great start to the 2021-22 campaign. However, a devastating ankle injury ruined the teen's progress.
