Liverpool F.C. likened their new prospect to Sadio Mané and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The transfer window is just a few months away. As Premier League clubs look for the best signings, Liverpool found one in Valencia’s Ferran Torres.

The Reds are very optimistic about signing Torres as he only got one year left on his contract with the Spanish side. And though Liverpool have already lost their impressive striker Fernando Torres, the club believes that the new Torres would make for an ideal addition to the already stacked team.

Liverpool F.C.’s official website claim that the Valencia winger is heavily linked with a move to Anfield. The Reds are looking forward the final year of Torres’ contract as it is expected that Valencia will be forced to lower their asking price for the 20-year-old this summer due to fear of losing him for nothing in 2021.

Torres has already completed 88 appearances since his debut as a 17-year-old. After 3 formative years, he was able to display the set of skills that could see him flourish at a bigger club such as Liverpool. The club’s official website even predicted that Torres wouldn’t have a hard time fitting in with Mané on the pitch as the pair is both impressive the forward positions.

“If Liverpool were to get their hands on Torres, he would perhaps prove an ideal understudy to Sadio Mane in one of the wide forward positions,” Liverpool.com wrote.

Mané has gradually become a more versatile and complete player since arriving at the club from Southampton in 2016 . And as early as now, the Reds think that ” a fleet-footed and pacey player” like Torres could also do the same. Torres is expected tp have little trouble contributing to the aggressive and quick attacks that have become dictated Klopp’s strategy over time.

Aside from same potential as Mané, Torres is also has unique similarities with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo. Liverpool noted that the youngster’s “running style and gait” fairly resembles to that of a young “CR7.”

However, despite Torres’ promising potential, he is certainly not crashing into the Liverpool first team as it is already stacked at the moment.

Meanwhile, Liverpool reportedly remains focused on negotiating the deal with Bundesliga star Timo Werner. Recent reports claim that should the Reds fail to convince RB Leipzig to lower Werner’s release clause, Klopp will consider Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele as a plan B.
