  • Harry Wilson is the product of Liverpool academy
  • He has scored seven goals this season while on loan at Bournemouth
  • Leeds are expected to offer $19 million for Wilson

Liverpool FC reportedly are willing to listen to offers for 23-year-old winger Harry Wilson in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 2019-20 season was a breakthrough year for Wilson, who is the product of Liverpool academy. He was on loan at Bournemouth, where he played his maiden Premier League season. While he scored seven goals in 31 league appearances, the club got relegated to the Championship.

Earlier, Wilson had an impressive loan stint at the second-tier side Derby County during the 2018-19 campaign. Under the management of legendary Frank Lampard, Wilson was impressive with 18 goals in as many as 49 appearances.

Wilson, who still has three years left on his current Liverpool deal, is unlikely to get opportunities in The Reds squad ahead of the regular front three – Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. He has made just one senior appearance for Liverpool, which came in a 1-0 FA Cup win over Plymouth in January 2017.

A newly-promoted club to the Premier League, Leeds United, are reportedly set to approach Liverpool with an offer of $19 million for Wilson. The club is aiming to strengthen the side ahead of Premier League appearance in the 2020-21 season, which will be their first season in the English top-flight league after 16 long years, sports website talkSPORT reported.

The report has also revealed that Leeds could have competition from the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa in Wilson’s transfer.

The Villa Park side was promoted back to the Premier League in the 2019-20 season. The "Lions" escaped getting relegated once again to the Championship in their final Premier League match of this season, where they drew 1-1 against West Ham. Aston Villa’s captain Jack Grealish was their top-scorer with 10 goals, while Conor Hourihane was second on the list with seven. Wilson’s addition to their attack could further strengthen their side.

Premier League champions Liverpool would want to cash in on Wilson, who has scored a total of 25 goals in the last two seasons.
