Marvel Cinematic Universe may be the biggest film franchise of all time, but it had a humble start a decade ago, with some B-list actors.

Recently, Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki Laufeyson in Marvel's "Thor," opened up about his first encounter with Chris Hemsworth before they filmed the movie in 2011. Hemsworth played Thor in the movie, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

The 40-year-old actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday to promote his newly-released Disney+ solo series, "Loki," and recalled how he met Hemsworth in 2009.

"It was in 2009, we just got cast, and it was the first time I met Chris," Hiddleston told Kimmel after the talk show host picked out a photo from his Instagram account. "We were at Kenneth Branagh's house in England. And all I see when I look at that photo is inaccessible youth."

"It was interesting 'coz we just met," he explained. "Chris was Thor and I was Loki and [director] Kenneth Branagh had an idea. I think he went into an old wardrobe. He pulled out these colors because Thor's cape was red and Loki's cape was green. I think those costumes were from his movies of Henry V and Hamlet."

In May, Hemsworth shared the photo on Instagram along with a 2009 article titled, "Marvel Rolls Dice, Casts No-names for Thor." The article also mentioned Hemsworth and Hiddleston as "unknowns," which led the "Avengers" star to write a witty caption.

"This year marks the 10th anniversary of THOR when two unknown lads were given the keys to the kingdom," the "Men In Black: International" star captioned. "It’s been a hell of a ride and we clearly haven’t aged a day."

Hiddleston's solo series, "Loki" dropped its first episode titled, “Glorious Purpose” on Wednesday. The series consists of a total of six episodes, and each episode will release every Wednesday at 3:01 a.m. ET. The finale of the series will premiere on July 14. The series is helmed by Kate Herron.

Once the series comes to an end, the streaming platform will premiere more Marvel projects this year including "What If…?," "Hawkeye," and "Ms. Marvel."

Hiddleston was last seen in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame" portraying Loki's character. He also gave a voice-over in the upcoming Marvel animated series, "What If...?"

Besides Marvel projects, the actor is currently filming television series, "The Essex Serpent," which is based on Sarah Perry's novel with the same name.
