People looking to steal from Walmart (WMT) better think twice as the retailer has a sure-fire way to stop would-be theft from happening in their self-checkout lanes, according to a TikTok user claiming to be a store employee.

The anonymous Walmart employee, dubbed the Walmart Guy, posted a video to TikTok that has now gone viral, amassing more than 11.9 million views at the time of writing. It showed how the retail giant monitors customers in the self-checkout lanes of its stores to stop theft of its merchandise, as reported by Fox News.

The video warns Walmart customers, “We know when your stealing,” and shows the employee watching the self-checkout registers with a device that automatically lists the item count and details of each customer at each station. The worker can determine if there is a discrepancy with a purchase.

Additional videos shared by the same Walmart employee, who has 33,900 followers, showed other ways that Walmart keeps track of would-be shoplifters' tricks, including putting items in backpacks, non-see-through containers, under the cart, or in their pants.

The Walmart Guy also showed in a TikTok video how the Walmart device displays each action a customer makes at the self-checkout lane, which has to be approved by the worker monitoring the area, saying, “We see everything.”

As of Friday at 11:16 a.m. ET, shares of Walmart were trading at $151.08, up 97 cents, or 0.65%.
