Luka Rocco Magnotta was flown back Monday to his native Canada, where he will face trial for the first-degree murder of student Jun Lin in Montreal. Magnotta, who was arrested in Berlin a week after the crime, will be delivered to an unspecified location.

“Our government’s cooperation with the international community has led to this individual being swiftly returned to face justice,” Canadian Minister of Justice Rob Nicholson said in a statement. “It is important that Canadians can have confidence that those who are accused of serious crimes will face the full force of the law.”

Magnotta, a 29-year-old sometime gay porn actor, is suspected of torturing and dismembering Lin. The Chinese student's remains were found inside a suitcase in Montreal in May and his hands and feet were mailed to the headquarters of Canada's Conservative and Liberal parties.
