Rolling Stone Korea recently highlighted the talents of each member of Blackpink and how each one contributed to the success of the group. However, some statements did not sit well with fans who quickly took to social media to demand an apology from the outlet.

The magazine praised the beauty of Jisoo calling her the “embodiment of glamor.” The article also talked about how the 27-year-old singer and actress kept improving her vocal and dance abilities over the years. However, BLINKS (fandom name) found it “disrespectful” that the magazine made it look like Jisoo is the least talented in the group by saying, “Although she does not possess the most outstanding talent in the group as a vocalist or dancer, her growth is much more apparent.”

The outlet has already updated the article by removing the sentences that offended the fans. However, some BLINKS were quick to save a screenshot and tweeted it with the hashtags, “Apologize to Jisoo.”

Meanwhile, the outlet also talked about Lisa’s unique physical charm and incredible rapping skills as contributing factors to her success as a soloist and as a member of the group.

Fans took offense when the writer said, “The unique presence of Lisa, created by her overpowering physical charm and exotic appearance…highlight her identity as a solo artist. …her pronunciation in those songs is natural enough to prevent the listener from sensing any kinks from the foreign member of the group.”

Fans were concerned about the way the writer described the 24-year-old idol’s features and pronunciation of Korean lyrics since Lisa was once a target of racial attacks due to her Thai background. BLINKS called out the magazine and tweeted their sentiments under the topic “Apologize to Lisa.”

“The racism towards lisa and the disrespect towards jisoo are truly disgusting. this article is so embarassing and unprofessional. I hope they remove the article because lisa and jisoo don't deserve this,” a fan tweeted alongside a screenshot of a contentious portion of the article.

Another person tweeted a screenshot of the article describing Jisoo and said, “What rolling stone said to jisoo was just unprofessional. jisoo is undoubtedly one of the most hardworking idols i know that despite being the sickest she's ever been, she still gives off her best at ALL TIMES. have some respect to her name.”

On the work front, Blackpink is hosting a virtual concert through the PUBG MOBILE app this month. The mobile gaming app invited fans to download the game and to log on to the app Friday to receive free concert tickets.
