A 35-year-old woman was choked to death after her husband stuffed her mouth, eyes and nose with a strong adhesive in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh Friday.

Kotwali police station inspector R N Sharma confirmed reports and said: “The victim, Durga Bai, suffocated to death after her husband Halkeram Kushwaha stuffed a strong adhesive, used for sticking broken items, in her mouth, nose and eyes.”

Before committing the crime, Kushwaha asked his two sons to go outside the house. The police said the incident came to light when one of them saw their mother lying motionless when they returned home in the evening.

"The 15-year-old boy lodged a police complaint, following which Halkeram was booked for murder and a search was launched to nab him," Sharma said adding a complaint has been registered against the accused.

The minor told the officer the accused was an alcoholic and often fought with his mother. He also said his father even tried to poison his mother in the past. It is not immediately clear if the accused was apprehended.

In a similar incident in May 2016, a woman put an adhesive into her husband’s eyes while he was asleep in Madhya Pradesh, India. She reportedly wanted to teach him a lesson over his alcohol addiction.

Vijayalakshmi , the accused had regular fights with her husband Santosh Vishwakarma over his alcoholic nature which led her to take the step. She fled from the scene after committing the crime.

Vishwakarma was unable to open his eyes the next morning and called Vijayalakshmi but to no avail. He then went to his neighbors to ask for help.

Civil Surgeon S.P. Singh Parihar said the man arrived at the hospital with both eyelids glued shut and doctors applied heat on the glued up eyelids to loosen them.

In a hoax story circulated in May 2017, a Middle East man reportedly sealed his wife’s vagina with crazy glue in suspicion of his wife’s likelihood of cheating on him while he was away on a 12-day safari.

According to reports, the woman was rushed to hospital by neighbors after she complained of excruciating pain. The husband was arrested and taken to court where he confessed to gluing her genitals only because he believed she had adulterous ideas as she had liked a photo of his 12-year-old cousin on Facebook.

The news spread like wildfire in many Middle Eastern countries as reports had suggested that after the man was found guilty, the judge had also decided to punish the woman with 100 lashes to prevent further misunderstandings between her and her husband.
