  • Paul Pogba feels Cristiano Ronaldo stole the spotlight from him, a report said
  • Pogba previously said Ronaldo's return is good for Manchester United
  • The Frenchman's contract renewal with the Red Devils is still not a done deal

One Manchester United star may have been feeling a bit forgotten since Cristiano Ronaldo made his return to Old Trafford.

Before Ronaldo decided to make his Manchester United comeback late in the summer, the Red Devils were stacked with a mix of veteran and young attacking midfielders and strikers.

With Ronaldo coming in, it was quite obvious that he will be taking the center-forward position and it also meant that some players would have to make room for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The entire Manchester United team was thrilled to have Ronaldo back, but according to Italian soccer journalist Paolo Condo, Paul Pogba is not of them as the Frenchman now feels that he’s “no longer” the team’s star.

“After the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, [Paul] Pogba no longer feels like the great Manchester United star,” Condo recently told Sky Italia. He is no longer the center of attention. And in the last few matches, Pogba’s performance has dropped a lot.”

Pogba has yet to comment anything about and related to the matter. Instead, he is only certain that having a player like Ronaldo is “good” for Manchester United.

“Everybody knows [what he brings],” Pogba said of Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United. “He’s already a legend at this club and he is coming back.”

"Obviously, it’s good for us, he’s going to bring his experience and quality,” he continued. “When he comes, the level goes up. We’re really pleased he’s coming, and the most important thing today was the win so that when he comes we keep this winning mentality and keep going.”

Aside from the said report about Ronaldo, Pogba has long been linked to a move away from Manchester United.

Contrary to Condo’s statement, famed transfer insider Fabrizio Romano earlier reported that Pogba is “loving the atmosphere” at Manchester United at the moment.

However, the renewal of his contract with the club is far from done.

“Just to give a clear message because Manchester United fans are asking about this [Pogba] situation,” Romano revealed. “I think [Mino] Raiola’s being honest on this point because we heard rumors in the last week like Pogba was one step away from signing a new deal with United. It’s not like this. At the moment, it’s not agreed. What is true is that Pogba is loving Man United life, he’s loving the atmosphere, he’s loving how the club has been rebuilt, with Sancho, with Varane, and of course, with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

“But, talking about his contract, it’s not 100% agreed yet."
