Cristiano Ronaldo may not be happy with how his Manchester United teammates are performing, according to a report.

Since returning to Manchester United this summer, Ronaldo has been superb and has already notched a total of five goals across all competitions. However, a report said the recent consecutive underwhelming performances of the club have prompted him to make a special request to coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It is widely known in the sport that Ronaldo always gives his best at any team he plays for, and his second spell with Manchester United is no different. Thus, he is now urging Solskjaer to tell his teammates to “move the ball quicker in attacking areas,” ESPN reported, citing unnamed sources.

According to the outlet’s insiders, Ronaldo has “made it clear to Solskjaer” and the rest of the club’s coaching staff that “he can further increase his goal ratio” if other Manchester United players on the pitch with him “become sharper and quicker when distributing the ball in the opposition half.”

Ronaldo has continued where he left off and has been an effective starting center-forward for the Red Devils. However, contrary to what the ESPN report suggested, the change Solskjaer made in the squad for the club’s recent English Premier League match against Everton appeared completely different from Ronaldo’s reported request.

Instead of starting the Portuguese striker, the Norwegian dropped his former teammate from his starting XI, something most Manchester United fans did not appreciate.

The Red Devils failed to outscore Everton and ended the game with a 1-1 draw. Anthony Martial, the striker who took Ronaldo’s place in the starting lineup, managed to score the team’s only goal of the match.

Addressing the controversial decision after the game, Solskjaer stressed that when playing a “long season,” it is a must for a coach to ensure he manages his players’ workload properly.

“You make decisions throughout a long, long season and you’ve got to manage the players’ workload,” the manager said. “The decision was, for me, the correct one. Anthony Martial did well, scored a good goal, Edinson [Cavani, who also came in] needed minutes, he got an hour, could have had a goal, a great cross and a great chance for him.”

“We have to make those decisions sometimes,” he pointed out.

Manchester United will be visiting Leicester City this weekend and will be hoping to get back to its winning ways in the Premier League.
