If the latest reports are to be believed, Premiership giants Manchester United are on the verge of losing their prized Portuguese wing man Nani who is believed to be leaving Old Trafford once the summer transfer window opens in summer.

Nani, 25, however, hasn’t agreed to any such rumors and, though, he was touted to leave the club last summer after it was believed that he was disgruntled with the system, he is still looking to stay with the club after the great season he has had. The player has even aided United’s league campaign with 10 goals this season.

“The manager has immense faith in me and that’s all that matters. My agent is negotiating with the club on a new deal and things are going very well. I hope at the end of the season an agreement will be reached. Manchester United is my home,” the Portuguese international told Metro.

Elsewhere, United are also trying to hold back 21-year-old English forward Danny Welbeck as boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to retain the players who have been most influential in United’s Premiership campaign this season, according to a Metro report.

Nani, who arrived at United from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting CP in 2007 and signed a five-year contract, has made as many as 193 appearances for the Red Devils and has even managed to score 36 times.
