Questions linger for Manchester United as they look to jump ahead of Newcastle United in the Premier League table and after a painful road defeat Sunday to leaders Arsenal.

Can the Red Devils make a serious run in the second half of the Premier League season? Will United be serious contenders for the FA Cup? Will the avoidable defensive lapses continue? Can United outlast La Liga titans Barcelona in Europa League? Will the attack continue to produce goals?

The answers may come in the form of new additions to Erik ten Hag's roster in the January transfer window. United recently brought in Dutch veteran Wout Weghorst and goalkeeper Jack Butland but additional reinforcements may be on the way.

Dusan Vlahovic, who has long been linked to Arsenal, continues to draw interest from Manchester United. The 22-year-old Serbian forward may exit Juventus sooner rather than later as the club has struggled in Serie A this season.

Juventus may be hoping for a bidding war for Vlahovic, who may command a fee of over £70 million. There have been reports that Chelsea and other clubs have or will make offers as the Jan. 31 deadline approaches.

The last time United were held scoreless in a Premier League match was against Newcastle on Oct. 16. Defense is probably the bigger priority for ten Hag.

Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb reported last week that United are interested in Fulham fullback Kevin Mbabu. The 27-year-old Swiss has been used sparingly this season after joining Fulham on a three-year contract.

British tabloids have also linked 22-year-old Brazilian winger Luiz Henrique to Manchester United. The Real Betis starlet, who like Vlahovic has also drawn interest from Arsenal, began his professional career with Fluminense. He scored 10 goals in 79 appearances for Rio de Janeiro club. Luiz Henrique is under contract with Real Betis until 2028.

Another player reportedly on the radar is 17-year-old forward Vitor Roque of Athletico Paranaense. Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in the Brazilian.
