  • Facundo Pellistri is one of Manchester United's five summer signings
  • Pellistri moved to the club from Uruguay's club Penarol
  • Pellistri has been included in Man Utd's Champions League list

Manchester United’s new teenage signing Facundo Pellistri said Wednesday he is looking forward to playing alongside the club’s talented attack including Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

The 18-year-old winger recently completed a summer move from Uruguayan club Penarol to Manchester United at a fee of $11 million. Pellistri has signed a five-year deal with the Old Trafford side and his contract has an option to extend for a further year.

Pellistri made 37 appearances for the five-time South American champions across the last two years, scoring two goals. When Man Utd completed the signing, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer described his new addition as having “all of the technical qualities and the right mentality to be a top player here” in an interview.

Man Utd handed Pellistri their No. 25 shirt and also included the player in their 25-man list for the upcoming Champions League.

Pellistri trained for the first time at Man Utd’s Aon Training Complex Wednesday. "I had my first session with the reds at an awesome training center. Really excited to begin and work hard," wrote Pellistri on his Instagram account along with some pictures.

The teenage South American sensation also spoke to Man Utd’s official website about his upcoming journey in Manchester, while he also mentioned he is excited to learn from the likes of Rashford and Martial.

"I’m very excited to sign because Manchester United is one of the best clubs in history. I’m really happy to be here. I would describe myself as a fast player who likes to be in touch with the ball and provide assists for my team-mates. I’m really excited to link up and to learn from attacking players like Greenwood, Martial, and Rashford," added Pellistri in the same interview.

Pellistri was among the five players who Man Utd signed at the recently ended summer market. The 33-year-old forward Edinson Cavani Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) joined Man Utd as a free agent. The former Premier League champions signed FC Porto’s left-back Alex Telles for a fee close to $20 million.

Meanwhile, another 18-year-old striker - Amad Diallo - is set to move from Atalanta to Man Utd in January 2021.
