Mariah Carey looked happy and confident while out and about in Paris on Thursday.

The "Hero" singer was all smiles in a burgundy, body-hugging gown that showed off her slimmer frame. The singer paired her dress with a black leather jacket and accessorized with hoop earrings and black sunglasses, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer has just returned to the stage and kicked off her holiday tour. She was forced to postpone her concert due to an illness. Carey's next stop is the Accor Hotels Arena in Paris on Saturday.

This comes weeks after Carey reportedly underwent gastric sleeve surgery to shrink the size of her stomach, numerous sources claimed last month. Carey was reportedly "extremely insecure about her weight," so she decided to go for the procedure.

"She always fluctuates and it makes her upset," a source told ET. "She lives in denial about it; she has the tags cut out of clothes, so she can be blissfully unaware of her size."

A second source claimed that the surgery has made Carey happier and more confident in her body. "This is a new beginning for her," the insider said.

In related news, Carey reportedly received a multimillion-dollar settlement from her ex-fiancé, James Packer. The exes got engaged in January 2016 and split in October of the same year. Following their breakup, the diva reportedly asked for an "inconvenience fee" from the billionaire. The exact amount of the settlement was not disclosed, but Carey reportedly kept the $10 million engagement ring he gave her as well.

"She still has the ring and wears it now on her middle finger," the source said. "They 100 percent have not spoken for a year, maybe even longer than that."

Meanwhile, Packer, 50, previously expressed his regrets regarding dating the diva. The businessman explained that their relationship had been a mistake for both of them.

"I was at a low point in my personal life," Packer said. "She was kind, exciting and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me."
