What do fans get out of Kelly Clarkson’s boredom? A cover of Mariah Carey’s “Vanishing” which even Carey herself praised.

On Thursday Clarkson posted a video of herself on Instagram covering the song a cappella from her bathroom in her Montana ranch, E! News reported.

“I totally changed the whole song,” Clarkson said in her video after belting the ballad. “I kind of… forgot where it went at one point.”

The change was welcomed by five-time Grammy winner Carey, who commented on Clarkson’s Instagram post calling her cover a “beautiful rendition” and requesting that the “American Idol” winner perform another one of her songs, “Whenever You Call” from her 1997 album, “Butterfly.”

“Beautiful rendition!!! I know you're usually working 30 hours a day, 8 days a week so this must be quite an adjustment for you (as it is for us all!) Keep the videos coming!!" she wrote.

Clarkson dedicated the performance to Carey herself stating, “This is for Mariah, because I know she saw that voice episode.”

The statement is a reference to Clarkson’s time as a host on NBC’s “The Voice” where she once mentioned “Vanishing” on the show — the fifth track off of Carey’s first album, self-titled “Mariah Carey,” Billboard reported.

The 37-year-old singer and mother of two also used her post as a way to share some lighthearted updates of she and her families’ cooking regiment during quarantine, letting fans know they have been “cooking every meal” and reaching out about her concern for everyone’s safety amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I hope y’all are staying safe with your families in all realness,” Clarkson said. “Please keep social distancing a thing. You know all our people — the doctors in the medical field, everybody, the nurses — I know a lot of them and they are putting their lives on the line to make sure everybody is healthy.”
