Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been engaged since 2007, so why have they been so hesitant to walk down the aisle? It's a little thing called equality for all -- that's all. The spunky blonde and her funnyman refuse to marry until California legalizes same-sex marriages.

"This is very much up to the State of California," Bell told Celebuzz. "We've been very vocal about not wanting to be married in a state that doesn't allow that right to all of its citizens. We'll wait until California gets on the right side of history."

The activist- twosome will be starring together in the upcoming flick "Hit and Run," which coincidently is Shepard's directorial debut - his sweetheart couldn't be happier for him.

"Seeing the man I love really accomplish one of his dreams, which is directing a real car chase movie, I wanted to give him the best performance," said Bell. "I wanted to be able to do what he wanted to see. So there wasn't ego involved when he was directing me."

Like most couples, they have their disagreements but not usually when it comes to movies.

"We typically like the exact same movies. We have the same opinion on scripts and on television shows. In that respect, we've very, very aligned." Said Bell.

However, Shepard has been unwilling to jump on the "Hunger Games" bandwagon. Bell is reportedly a major fan of the series and has admitted to reading Shepard the books in bed.

On a recent appearance to "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the pint-sized blonde boasted about being a "super fan" of the movie, and have even admitted to hosting "Hunger Games" themed parties.
