Liam Hemsworth’s marriage with Miley Cyrus had reached its end as the actor reportedly filed for divorce. The former couple’s prenup agreement might come in handy amidst the said legal proceedings.

Hemsworth filed the legal documents relative to the divorce in Los Angeles and the cause of separation cited was irreconcilable differences. An unnamed source connected to the former couple reportedly told TMZ that Hemsworth and Cyrus signed a prenup agreement separating their profits during the marriage. Details about the prenup agreement are limited.

However, the news outlet reported the sources’ claim that divorce would be easy since there were no kids involved yet, and there won’t be complications in financial matters because of the agreement.

Before Hemsworth’s filing for divorce took place, there were reports claiming that the couple’s split was amicable. Things were reportedly falling apart for the two months before the split’s official announcement as they did not see each other eye-to-eye and that they needed the time apart because they reportedly wanted to work on their individual issues and focus more on their careers.

Not long after, news circulated that Cyrus and Hemsworth’s camps were both pointing fingers at one another. Cyrus’ camp allegedly claimed that the singer couldn’t handle Hemsworth’s drinking, partying habits and drug use, while Hemsworth’s camp claimed that the allegations were just a stunt to cover the real reason of the split, citing that Cyrus cheated.

Hemsworth and Cyrus announced their split on August 10, Mirror reported. Meanwhile, a photo of Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex, kissing while having their vacation in Lake Como, Italy crawled the Internet and spread like wildfire. Just recently, there were reports claiming that she and Cyrus had a steamy encounter in a club and that they couldn’t keep their hands off each other — both basically were having sex.

While the controversy of Cyrus and Carter’s rumored relationship became the headlines of Internet news, Hemsworth reportedly left the country for some time off and went to Australia to spend some quality time with his brother, Chris Hemsworth, and his family. As for Cyrus, she reportedly moved out of their home and got herself a bachelorette pad just a few blocks away from the said house in Malibu.

Hemsworth and Cyrus’ marriage had been reportedly drifting apart. Hemsworth, without his wedding ring, was reportedly caught on cam doing his grocery back in June — a few weeks before the official announcement of their split, while Cyrus no longer wore hers when she went to her Italy vacation.

Hemsworth and Cyrus met during the shoot of their movie “The Last Son.” Their relationship was on and off for the past decade until the pair got married in December, 2018. The pair held the private ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee with their families and a few friends.
