  • The leak revealed announcement and release details of "GTA 6"
  • Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed that "GTA 6" is in the works

A massive leak about the next Grand Theft Auto" installment, presumably called "GTA 6," has surfaced online recently, baring details about the game's launch platforms, release window, announcement and even its setting.

The new details about "GTA 6" came from reliable industry insider Tom Henderson, who provided accurate information about "Battlefield 2042," "Call of Duty" titles and other games in the past. In a new video uploaded on YouTube, Henderson shared information about the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto" series installment, which he had reportedly heard.

Henderson revealed that "GTA 6" may not be released until 2024 or 2025. According to him, Rockstar Games is now more focused on the well-being of its employees, following reports of intense crunch on some of its previous projects. Because of this, the gaming studio would more likely spend a much longer time making the sequel, he added.

In the video, Henderson also mentioned that Rockstar Games does not plan on announcing "GTA 6" or revealing the game until it is 100% confident of its release date.

The insider believes that the gaming studio would want to release its next "Grand Theft Auto" installment after the short supply issue of new generation gaming consoles' Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 has been solved, which could reportedly last until mid-2022. Apparently, the gaming studio doesn't want to release its much-awaited game without the industry's biggest possible audience: new generation console gamers.

Henderson also shared that "GTA 6" is set on the contemporary version of Vice City, contrary to early rumors that the game would be set in the 80s. Moreover, the insider noted that Rockstar Games is building the upcoming title and plans to expand its map across post-launch updates and downloadable content.

It is worth noting that while most of the details Henderson leaked in the past were proven to be accurate, the new set of details he just shared is not official. At this point, fans are advised to take things with a grain of salt, especially in the absence of an official confirmation from Rockstar Games.
