A few weeks after taking over the No.1 spot in the world golf rankings, Dustin Johnson is favored to win the 2017 Masters. He’s got the best betting odds a week before the tournament begins, putting him ahead of what should be a competitive field.

With Tiger Woods firmly out of the spotlight, the No.1 ranking is constantly changing. While that honor currently belongs to Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Rory McIlroy have all been atop the rankings at some point over the last 18 months.

Johnson has three wins in the 2017 PGA season with five top-10 finishes. He won the 2016 U.S. Open for his first ever major championship and has finished in the top six at Augusta in each of the last two years.

A year after blowing his chance to win a second consecutive green jacket, Jordan Spieth enters the 2017 Masters as the second favorite. He is the only golfer with better than 25/1 odds that's won at Augusta. Spieth was well on his way towards winning the 2016 Masters, but he had a historic collapse, culminating with a quadruple-bogey on the 12th hole in the final round.

McIlroy is just behind Spieth, and he usually finishes near the top of the leaderboard, even though he’s never won the green jacket. McIlroy has three straight top-10 finishes at Augusta, and he’s currently ranked second in the world. The 27-year-old has four major championships in his career, though he hasn’t gotten one since 2014.

Jason Day and Hideki Matsuyama, ranked third and fourth in the world, respectively, are tied for the fifth-best odds. Spieth and McIlroy, however, enter the tournament with odds that are more than two times better than that of Day and Matsuyama.

The 2016 Masters winner, Danny Willett, is not among the favorites. Tiger Woods doesn’t even have odds because he isn’t expected to compete.
