Max-Hervé George is expanding SWI Group's ambitions in digital infrastructure through a $500 million investment in Genesis Digital Assets Ltd. (GDA), a US-based operator of large-scale digital infrastructure facilities. SWI Capital Holding Ltd., the parent company of SWI Group, is listed on Euronext Amsterdam under the ticker symbol 'SWICH' and has a market capitalisation of USD 3.3 billion.

SWI Group has effective control of Genesis Digital Assets, with a holding of more than 70% and access to 1.3 gigawatts of energised and approved grid capacity across 15 sites, including multiple hyperscaler-grade facilities in Texas. The company plans to transition the assets from cryptocurrency mining operations to support artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications, expanding its combined transatlantic AI-ready digital infrastructure platform to more than 3.6 gigawatts.

The acquisition strengthens AiOnX, SWI Group's wholly owned data center platform, which currently has 2.3 gigawatts of AI-ready capacity under development across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Spain, and Italy. With the addition of GDA, SWI Group's combined digital infrastructure portfolio reaches 3.6 gigawatts, establishing a presence in both European and North American markets at a time when demand for computing capacity continues to increase.

'The acquisition significantly expands SWI Group's digital infrastructure footprint to include the US, the largest and fastest-growing market for AI and HPC data centers,' Max-Hervé George, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SWI Group, said in a statement. 'By aggregating these European and US platforms, the Group is creating a leading global digital infrastructure player.'

The transaction also highlights the growing focus of SWI Group and Icona Capital on digital infrastructure investments tied to artificial intelligence. Over recent years, Max-Hervé George has overseen the expansion of the group's exposure to sectors supported by increasing demand for data processing, cloud services and advanced computing capabilities.

The investment terms provided for SWI Group to hold approximately 77.2% by value of the $1.124 billion liquidation preference attached to GDA's preferred share classes, together with approximately 38.3% of the company's total shareholding.

AiOnX remains central to the group's digital infrastructure strategy. The platform's developments across Europe, combined with the newly expanded US footprint, provide SWI Group with exposure to some of the largest markets for AI infrastructure deployment. Led by Max-Hervé George, SWI Group, formerly known as SWI Stoneweg Icona Group, manages approximately €10 billion in assets across data centers, real estate, credit and financial services. The company operates through 26 offices globally and employs more than 280 people.
