Mayweather Vs. Paul Exhibition Match Gains Ground Following Heated Social Media Exchange

Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans to do an exhibition fight in February next year, but there could be one happening before that.

For some time now, a bout against internet personality Logan Paul has been in the air and it appears that an unusual face-off will be happening soon. It could happen as early as December.

Paul may have hit a nerve on the usually composed Mayweather when he ranted that he could lay out the undefeated boxer with one good punch in a video via TMZ Sports.

“If I caught Floyd with one punch—one punch—I would snap this f**ker in half,” Paul said on the video.

Initially, it appeared he was referring to a street fight. However, Paul said he would not mind facing Mayweather in the boxing ring.

But in its entirety, the rant may have been a bad move. It earned the goat of Mayweather, someone who rarely responds to insults hurled his way. He posted the following on his Twitter account, obviously referring to Paul.

“These YouTube girls better find some Barbie dolls to play with cause I’m not the one for the kid games. Three years ago a fighter from the UFC said my name and I had to put a muzzle on that b***h. [Logan Paul] can get the same treatment before I go conquer Japan again,” Mayweather’s post read.

It was in September when the camp of Paul approached the Mayweather about a possible fight. That was originally meant to happen in 2020.

Both men may have tried to fire up an in-ring clash that could happen in December. Paul is looking to fight again, seeking redemption after losing to KSI (Olajide Olatunji) via a split decision on Nov. 9, 2019.

It was a rematch between the two YouTubers after the first one ended in a majority draw.

Further boosting belief that a Mayweather vs. Paul fight is happening soon was the revelation of KSI's trainer Viddal Riley. He said that the two camps are actually in talks although nothing is confirmed, Sky Sports reported.

"Remember, I get the inside scoop. I hang around the family. It is not confirmed yet but it is in talks," Riley stated.
