Tory Lanez has been identified as the person who shot Megan Thee Stallion, which led to her hospitalization on July 12.

According to Page Six, Lanez reportedly fired the shots from within his car while Stallion was trying to leave. A source told the media outlet that the whole incident was captured on camera and police are currently investigating the clip to solve the case.

“Tory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave. There is a video and the police are investigating. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman,” a source told the publication.

However, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said that any video related to the case “would not be released” until the case reaches the court. The spokesperson also noted that releasing any video now would dent the “integrity of the case.”

“The detectives are seeking information regarding the shooting involving Daystar Peterson, and the investigation is still ongoing. I’m not privileged to what the detectives have right now,” the spokesperson told Page Six.

Lanez, who was born Daystar Peterson, was booked for possession of a concealed weapon.

Meanwhile, the “Savage” hitmaker revealed that the whole episode was a “blessing in disguise” for her. Taking it to Instagram, the songstress explained the incident taught her how to save her “energy.”

“This whole experience was an eye-opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy,” Megan wrote on Instagram.

The Instagram post contained a screenshot of a statement explaining what happened to her.

"The narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events are inaccurate and I’d like to set the record straight. On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” Megan said in the statement.

However, she did not identify who pulled the trigger.

Lanez was released on bail that was initially set at $35,000. He is set to appear in court on Oct. 13.
