Meghan Markle opted not to open all the gifts she received during her recent baby shower in New York due to a poignant reason.

American TV host Gayle King, who was at the baby shower at Mark’s Hotel, told her CBS “This Morning” co-hosts that Markle decided to bring all of the presents back to London so that she could open them with Prince Harry.

“She didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she goes back to London when she and Prince Harry are back together. I don’t know what everybody got,” she said.

King said that she got the Duchess of Sussex something nice, but she doesn’t think that Markle will tell the world what she received from her friends because she’s a very private person.

Concierges were photographed loading Markle’s gifts into a van that was taken to a private luxury jet that was paid for by Amal Clooney.

Meanwhile, Gayle also shared some details about the recent baby shower and said that she has not seen anything like it before.

“They did flower decorations. They had flower arranging, they brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers, we all each made an individual vase,” she shared.

Following the baby shower, all of the flowers that were arranged were donated to different charities via Repeat Roses, an organization that sends flowers to places such as cancer treatment centers, homeless shelters, and mental health facilities.

Markle has returned to London after her short trip to the Big Apple. She was photographed wearing a “Mummy” necklace, which is a gift from one of her friends. Eagle-eyed royal fans identified the accessory as a piece by Jennifer Meyer.

The Duchess of Sussex was also photographed with her black baseball hat that had the word rectify on it. According to People, the cap may have been a gift from Abigail Spencer, who stars in a television show called “Rectify.”
