Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly looking for a new home in California.

A source told James Beal and royal correspondent Emily Andrews of The Sun that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking for a pad somewhere near where Markle grew up in Los Angeles. Markle wanted a bolthole for her family, and she also hopes to be closer to her mom, Doria Ragland.

The source said that Markle wants a place in Los Angeles because she loves the city, the lifestyle and the climate. Also, she’s an “ultimate California girl” and can breathe easier there. In addition, “Hollywood is in her DNA” and it’s where she has always wanted a solid footing.

“Spending time there would also allow her some freedom and independence from both the Palace and the Press — and more control over her life and the people around her,” the insider continued. “She is a duchess in the UK, but could be a queen in LA.”

Last month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to their new home Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. According to insiders, they were supposed to move there in March. However, there move was delayed because the “demanding” couple reportedly made a lot of changes in the design.

Earlier in April, there were reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went away for a three-night stay in Hampshire. Many thought that Prince Harry and Markle were celebrating “babymoon.”

However, one netizen claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were forced to take the said vacation because Queen Elizabeth II already wanted them out of Kensington Palace and their new home was still not completed.

Just a few weeks after Prince Harry and Markle moved to Frogmore Cottage, there were rumors that they infuriated their staff after banning them to use the car park because it “overlooks their new home.” An insider said that saying that they were upset and annoyed was a massive understatement.

The couple reportedly doesn’t want to look out of their window and see cars coming and going. A source said that everyone is calling them “NIMBYs” which means “not in Meghan’s back yard.”

However, a senior source at Windsor castle defended Prince Harry and Markle. The source said that it’s not the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who demanded the change. Also, the car park would not be closed entirely. However, only a few would be able to use it.
