Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have received different treatments from the media.

Throughout the past couple of months, the Duchess of Sussex has been criticized for her every move. When the Duchess of Cambridge first joined the royal family, she was also slammed by critics. However, this kind of treatment has changed in recent years.

One Twitter user claimed that Markle has been unfairly vilified by the media, while Middleton has been elevated.

“It breaks my heart to see how differently Kate and Meghan have been treated by the media. While Meghan has been so unfairly vilified, Kate was elevated: remember when everyone kept parroting that she’d ‘never put a foot wrong?’” Twitter user @GinaMcGalliard said.

“The media cast her as such because they don’t know how to see another person of color as simply a human being. We have to be othered,” Twitter user @mass_critical_13 said.

“This is for all. Let Meghan breathe and live her life. She is not a slave because she is black. She has accomplished so much independently before meeting Harry. As you keep saying daily, she is not your future Queen. Death is guaranteed,” Twitter user @Sametta09251237.

Other Twitter users praised the “Suits” alum for choosing to marry Prince Harry even though it meant giving up so much. They also acknowledged the fact that it has been a struggle for Markle to adjust to her life as a royal.

“Love can conquer many things especially if it is reciprocated. You can’t help but feel the fire between those two,” Twitter user @desm7496 said.

“And hats off to her for that because I could never love someone so much I’d consider joining that crime syndicate – I mean family,” Twitter user @BakerStRose said.

Twitter user @charbrown20 sarcastically said that Markle is being punished for marrying Prince Harry, having a baby, taking her duties seriously, and inspiring causes with grace, eloquence, and beauty.
