It's been over a week since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "came under fire" for their use of private jets, but that doesn't mean people are done talking about it. Two editors from Page Six questioned the new parents' actions and claimed they had to have known there would be backlash.

Style Editor for the publication, Elana Fishman, gave an overview as to how the pair wound up in this predicament.

“Environmentalist Prince Harry came under fire recently after he and Meghan Markle took a private jet to Elton John’s estate in France," she explained, according to Express, before her colleague, Kristin McNamara, Senior Social Editor, chimed in.

“I do see both sides. But, judging by the timing of Harry’s comments about the carbon footprint. It’s just a mess," she said. “I just think they had to have known this was a PR nightmare. It is kind of silly in my opinion.”

Fishman added, “Have they learnt nothing ?"

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren't the only ones who've had an issue with timing. Kate Middleton and Prince William were recently criticized for boarding a commercial flight amid the jet scandal. The Cambridge family were even accused of booking the budget airline simply to snub their royal family members.

“The flight might have been planned for weeks, but the timing proved to be impeccable, coinciding with Harry and Meghan facing jet-gate," a Daily Mail reporter explained.
