Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Channeling Royal Status Just Like Princess Diana

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry intend to channel their royal status in the same way that Princess Diana did several years ago.

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, recently told Express that Prince Harry and Markle’s chosen charities reflect the causes that are close to their hearts. For instance, the Duke of Sussex has been focusing on the importance of mental illness throughout the years.

Markle, on the other hand, has been named as the patron of four charities, which are aimed at the improvement of the arts, female empowerment, gender equality, and more.

“We’ve only seen four patronages that Meghan has taken up but if one looks at the Instagram, this is obviously very significant because they’ve got 4.4 million followers already. What they are doing now is following in Diana’s footsteps, it is very much inspired by Diana, taking in causes that they feel especially strongly about,” he said.

Fitzwilliams also said that he doesn’t think Markle would ever agree to marry Prince Harry if it meant she would lose her freedom to do charitable work. Luckily, the members of the royal family are involved in a slew of charities.

“They have more room to breathe than Prince William and Kate do – I think it would be difficult to make it work for them otherwise. If you take Meghan’s background, she’s tremendously independent and had to fight to get to where she did in her profession… There’s no question at all that she won’t continue to be that way,” he said.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell, recently described the Duchess of Sussex as a woman who speaks her mind. While speaking with Us Weekly, Burrell also said that he doesn’t think the former Hollywood star is really feuding with Kate Middleton.

Burrell said that the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge are very different from each other, and they also have different roles. Middleton knows that Markle is no threat to her and Markle knows that her role is very different from Middleton so there shouldn’t be any rift between them.
