Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are satisfied with the purchase of their Montecito mansion because it offers them the ideal lifestyle that they have been craving for, according to a source.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to their new home in Montecito, Santa Barbara in July. A source told People that Prince Harry and Markle are feeling at peace in their new home and they are hopeful to give Archie a normal life possible in their new community.

"They were craving a smaller community and a slower pace — Montecito is very mellow, a charming little town and the Santa Barbara [area] offers an ideal lifestyle that they’re looking forward to," the source told People.

"They feel like the future holds endless possibility. They can hope to give Archie as normal a life as possible there.”

Meanwhile, a realtor expert approved of Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to settle in Montecito. Cristal Clarke, a luxury property specialist, said Montecito is "one of the safest and most family-friendly communities."

It is "surrounded by security fencing, entered via gated driveways and secluded from view by tall hedges and other lush landscaping." The place is also good for Archie because it has award-winning private and public schools.

Aside from security, Prince Harry and Markle's new place offers several aspects that they loved in Vancouver Island when they were still in the Canadian province. It has beautiful coastline, calm waters and nearby hills for hiking. There are also fantastic dining and retail shops around the area.

In addition, the Sussexes' new home offers them an inspiration for their new charity.

"They feel the new house is a place of peace — and it offers inspiration to build Archwell [foundation], which they’re focused on," the insider continued.

Prince Harry and Markle have spoken with incredible leaders as they build Archewell and their conversations have been educational and helpful for the couple, the source added. Furthermore, they are applying all the things they learned to Archewell and they are excited to see it all come together because it’s what they dreamed about doing together.

Prince Harry and Markle purchased their new home without the help of the royal family. The couple took out a $9.5 million mortgage to buy the estate.
