Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son helped them gain more followers.

Last Sunday, the Duke of Sussex celebrated his first Father’s Day by sharing an intimate photo of his newborn son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. In the snap, the baby is seen holding Prince Harry’s finger. Archie’s eyes and nose are exposed but not his whole face.

According to Richard Eden, the said post helped the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gained more followers. Prince Harry and Markle’s followers increased by 100,000.

“Prince Harry and Meghan's photo of baby Archie on @instagram has been liked by an astonishing 2.1million people and boosted the couple's number of followers by 100,000. #royal,” Eden wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, other netizens were wondering if the couple is using their baby to have more followers because it seemed to be the case.

“Is she using her baby to gain followers on Instagram? It's all about the likes and followers with these two,” one user wrote.

Another user said that Prince William and Kate Middleton are doing the same. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also use their children for promoting the garden that the duchess designed.

The user who originally asked the question defended the Cambridges and stressed that the “Back to Nature” garden was supposed to inspire families and insisted that unlike Prince Harry and Markle they do not show their children one at a time to gain followers. Instead, Prince William and Middleton either show their faces completely or they don’t.

“They don't want to show their child, then he and they should get ZERO dollars from the taxpayers. Throw them out!” another netizen commented.

Prince Harry and Markle gained millions of followers just hours after they announced their official Instagram account. However, Prince William and Middleton remain more popular because they have more followers.

Initially, many netizens said that they would unfollow the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and would only follow the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, it turned out that Prince William and Middleton gained more followers after their split.

According to a recent report, Prince Harry and Markle just hired new staff to manage their social media and catch up with Prince William and Middleton’s popularity. Among the staff’s roles are to boost the couple’s global image and encourage more followers.
