Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a red carpet appearance at an event honoring military veterans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared at the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala at the Intrepid Museum Wednesday night. The special New York City event paid tribute to the veterans ahead of Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in the U.K., People reported.

Markle looked gorgeous in her red gown by Carolina Herrera. She paired it with coordinating heels by Giuseppe Zanotti. Meanwhile, Prince Harry opted for a classic black suit and bow tie pinned with four medals and the cross for Knight Commander of Royal Victorian Order around his neck. The royal couple adorned their outfits with a red poppy, the symbol used to commemorate military members who passed away from the war since 1921.

Several netizens praised Markle's look at the event on Twitter.

"Meghan Markle is a GODDESS," one said while sharing a snap of the duchess' back.

"Just stunning. The color and the neckline are perfections!" another fan wrote praising Markle.

"Harry's Wife is so darn Gorgeous! This is truly what a Queen looks like," a third added with a red heart emoji.

Meanwhile, one reporter approached Markle and asked if she was proud of her husband, who served the British army for 10 years. "I'm always proud of him," the duchess said.

The Intrepid Museum's Salute to Freedom Gala recognizes the extraordinary work of brave men and women who serve to defend the country.

Prince Harry presented the inaugural Intrepid Valor Awards to five service members, veterans and military families living with the invisible wounds of war. Jon Bon Jovi, who previously worked with Prince Harry for a song for Invictus Games, received the 2021 Intrepid Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as Chairman of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. Bob Pittman, iHeartMedia Chairman & CEO, also received the 2021 Intrepid Salute Award for outstanding business and philanthropic achievements.

"We are so grateful to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex for honoring and amplifying the stories of these heroes and helping to raise awareness for mental health support for our men and women in uniform," said Susan Marenoff-Zausner, president of the Intrepid Museum, in a press release.
