• Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber walked the red carpet separately
  • Gerber donned a metallic Alexander McQueen gown
  • Butler went for an all-black look

Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2022 Met Gala on Monday night. They walked the red carpet separately but managed to sneak in a kiss at one point.

For the occasion, Gerber went for a sheer Alexander McQueen metallic gown that featured side cutouts and sparkling details. She matched her look with long and curly light brown locks that cascaded down her back, paying homage to Studio 54 style.

Butler attended the event in an all-black ensemble, which included a black Prada suit worn on top of his slightly unbuttoned shirt. He completed his look with an undone tie over his shoulders.

Butler walked the red carpet with businesswoman Priscilla Presley, the wife of late Elvis Presley. Butler is playing the iconic singer in an upcoming biopic by Baz Lurhmann.

As the couple reached the top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase, Butler reached for Gerber's hand and shared a sweet kiss with her.

The pair first sparked romance rumors last December when they were spotted leaving a yoga class together in Los Angeles. Gerber had just broken up with "Kissing Booth" star Jacob Elordi at the time.

A source later told ET that the pair has been "having a lot of fun hanging out."

"Kaia and Austin are seeing each other. They're getting to know each other better and having a lot of fun hanging out," the source told the outlet. "They're very sweet and affectionate with each other and it feels comfortable between the two of them."

Another source told People that Gerber seemed "really happy" with Butler. "All of her friends think he's really cute," said the source.

Although they have yet to publicly comment on their romance, Butler and Gerber have made a number of PDA-filled outings together. Back in March, they attended W Magazine's annual Best Performances party ahead of the Academy Awards hand-in-hand and also shared a kiss.
