The Michael Jackson Broadway musical “MJ” is launching a tour across the U.S. in 2023.

“MJ” will hit 17 major cities over two years starting in 2023 with its first stop in Chicago at the James M. Nederlander Theatre on July. 15.

“We are thrilled by the Broadway response to ‘MJ,’ and that we are already deep in preparations to bring this exhilarating show to Chicago and across the United States,” producer Lia Vollack said in a statement.

“Chicago is a premier theater and music destination, and we are excited to be able to begin this journey in one of the Nederlander Organization’s most beautiful venues," Vollack said.

The musical is based off his 1992 Dangerous Tour and created by Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Christopher Wheeldon with a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage.

It includes an array of classic Michael Jackson's and Jackson 5’s songs like "ABC," "Black or White," "Blame it on the Boogie," "Bad," "Billie Jean," "Off the Wall," "Thriller" and "I’ll Be There."

“MJ goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson into legendary status,” the MJ musical website said.

MJ can currently be seen at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York City and tickets cost $59.
