Mick Jagger praised rock stars of the new generation, Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud. The 78-year-old singer noted that rock genre music requires "energy," which is missing in new singers.

"In rock music you need energy, and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few," Jagger told Swedish radio station P4, ETCanada reported Sunday.

"You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly," Jagger went on to praise the two singers. "That kind of post-punk vibe makes me think there is still a bit of life in rock and roll."

Besides praising the new generation, Jagger opened up about rumors about his retirement from music. "I am not planning it to be the last live outing," the singer noted before sharing that he "loves being on tour."

Jagger, who gained fame as the lead vocalist and founding member of the rock band Rolling Stones, shared that he enjoys being on the stage and doing his work.

"That is what I do," he added. "I want everyone to enjoy themselves and forget the troubles in their lives for a couple of hours and just chill out and have a great afternoon and evening."

On the work front, Jagger dropped his new music video, "Living in the Heart of Love," on Sept. 23 last year. It was helmed by director Charles Mehling. On the personal front, the singer was married to Nicaraguan actress Bianca Jagger from 1971 to 1978.

The singer shares seven kids - Lucas Maurice Morad, 22, Gabriel, 24, Georgia May, 30, James, 36, Elizabeth, 38, Jade, 50, Karis, 51, with different women. Jagger is now dating former ballet dancer Melanie Hamrick. The couple shares a 5-year-old son named Deveraux Octavian Basil.

Considering Kelly's work, he will next feature in the movies like "Good Mourning," "One Way" and "Punk." On the personal front, he is engaged to actress Megan Fox.

Yungblud, on the other hand, dropped a new music video, "The Funeral," on March 11. The 24-year-old singer also appeared in a TV series, "From the Top: Olympians and Rockstars," last year. He is currently dating singer Jesse Jo Stark.
